    LiveJournal is like an old 8-track player, that can only fast-forward tapes, not rewind them. The users of this 8-track player either aren't aware of, or simply refuse to recognise, newer, better alternatives. They may not even realise the tool they're using is outdated and broken. They just stick with it, because it's the only thing they've known since they started using it 15 years ago.

    While my ulterior goal of sparking a mass exodus towards newer, open-source media may never become a reality, this sentence can at least be salvaged to inform those 2.3 people who are potentially reading it that I'm effectively leaving this old honking dinosaur of a website for greener pastures. http://nvsbl.tumblr.com is the new bell tower, from which I will snipe unsuspecting passers-by with bullets made of awesome videos, clever witticisms, and all the other tripe that can possibly spill from my head-holes out into a blood-red puddle on the floor.

    I encourage you to do the same, because social media is more or less useless when you're doing it all by yourself. Its like masturbation, except instead of whatever fluids normally result from such an act, all you get for your hard work is disappointment and sadness.... kind of like masturbation.

    I don't know if anyone here uses Soulseek, but if not, you should. Its a nice alternative to Bittorrent that just provides a convenient way for friends to share music and other files quickly.
